Tessa sent me this link and I would love to blog about it, however, it speaks on it's own. I'd love to hear your reactions to it. Tessa had one really beautiful and cool reaction, I had another unique reaction, and I'm sure there are more spanned all across the spectrum.
Here are some of the hottest high fashion models completely nude...

I love your blog and I really enjoy your thoughts on the female body but I don't understand this one. Most of these women have body types that are considered skinny in my book, so I don't understand how this fits in with your blog, so could you post your response to those pics. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt was fascinating for me to see the images of fully nude supermodels. And because there are many different reactions to it, I did not post mine. I was more curious as to what others thought of it.
ReplyDeleteOne women's reaction to it was that she was floored that the models had curves as well as being skinny. She had a positive reaction, and to be fair, her body shape is more similar to the models, save for the fact that she's much shorter. She related more to these nude photos because they were more like her than say my blog about Marilyn Monroe.
Other people I talked to were disgusted that they all had the same body type, and were the same old curve-less body type our magazines are bombarded with.
The images are blog worthy because they spark discussion and sometimes argument. Do they have curves or don't they?
My initial reaction was similar to yours, that the models are so similar in shape and proportion... that they were almost was a little boring. Some of the women looked unhealthy with their ribs showing, but what sparked my interest was that a few others looked healthy. (this is assuming that little to no photo editing has been done, which might be naive but the picture is all I have to go on) I guess I was a bit shocked to see that some of the models DID have breasts and hips despite being so skinny, and I realized that it would be unfair for me to ignore this body type in my blog, being that my blog has been demonizing this shape a lot.
Some women ARE born tall and skinny, and I didn't want to have a blog that completely demonized them. Even though they have a shape I cannot relate to, even if the media holds up their rare body type as the ideal or the norm, that does not mean that those who are born with that shape are not beautiful in their own right. Only 15% of the female population can achieve a natural healthy BMI as modern supermodels, and although many and arguably most of the supermodels do not achieve it healthily, there are a few that do.
So I take it you were among the readers who had a negative reaction to the pics? I'd like to hear more!
